Disney's 2016-17 Movie Lineup

Last weekend, the D23 Expo 2015 took place at the Anaheim Convention Center. Some of the highlights included the eight new Disney Legends inductees, a performance by some of the original Mouseketeers, and the announcement that a brand new, 14-acre land will be added to Disneyland and Walt Disney Hollywood Studios in Florida featuring a Star Wars theme. How much more exciting could the Expo get?!

Well, it did. The Expo also revealed the 2016-17 schedule for all Disney/Pixar movie releases. There are some amazing movies coming out in the  next two years! Here are the highlighted releases, provided by Teen Vogue.

  • The Good Dinosaur, November 25, 2015
    • This latest Pixar film features a time when cavemen and dinosaurs roamed the earth. An unlikely friendship is revealed during the movie.
  • Star Wars: The Force Awakens, December 18, 2015
    • Who hasn't been waiting for this one! I can't wait to see the return of Han, Luke, Leia and Chewy, and meet the new Jedis.
  • Zootopia, March 2016
    • "A world where animals rule, and humans don't exist." Hmm, should be interesting....
  • The Jungle Book, April 2016
    • One of Disney's classic films is going to be released as a live-action film! I'm looking forward to this one too.
  • Alice Through the Looking Glass, May 2016
    • I didn't see Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland, but I may have to just so I can see the coninuation of the story in Through the Looking Glass. Should be interesting.
  • Finding Dory, June 2016
    • Yes! Definitely! I loved Finding Nemo, and Dory definitely deserves her own movie.
  • Toy Story 4, June 2017
    • Who can say no to Buzz and Woody?
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell no Tales, July 2017
    • Johnny Depp is back as the infamous pirate Jack Sparrow. And Orlando Bloom is back as Will Turner! I'm looking forward to seeing the storyline of Will's return.
These are very exciting movies Disney has in store for us! What ones are you looking forward to?
